'Welcome to EFORDYOURPART. You will can find the auto parts you are searching for at this site and get the best price available. Please feel free to browse this site at your leisure. Forget ROCKAUTO.COM..I spent twenty minutes looking for a taillight lens for a 1998 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck. At this site if there is something specific that interest you, just type it in the search box. At efordyourpart.com we strive to making sure the parts you need are listed and are value priced. Thanks!'

'This is a 1907 Model R FORD...You will not find any parts here for this car. This horseless carriage as this was called in it's day. Did not need a remote. I do not think it even had a key to start it. It just had a switch. No doors or windows and not even a little windshield to keep the bugs out of your face. The car has a foot brake which stops the drive shaft, the transmission had 2 forward and 1 reverse gears which were speed controlled by three pedals and a lever. The engine is a 4 L-Head cylinder unit with 176.7 cubic-inches, generating 22 horsepower. The wheelbase is 100 inches and the weight is 1200 lbs. A ten gallon fuel tank could be found beneath the front seat, mounted to the frame. The engine started by a hand crank located at the front of the vehicle. The crank was very difficult to operate and has been the cause of many broken arms. We have come a long way since then. You could have owned this car for about $950.00 US Dollars in the year it was made. The average wage in 1909 was 22 cents per hour. The average worker made between $200 and $467 per year. A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year, A dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year. The average life expectancy was 47 years. Not the car..the driver. Fuel for this car was sold in drug stores only. From 1906 through 1908, Ford created the Model N, R and S which eventually evolving into the Model T. By the early 1920's, the price of the Model T cost about $300. Ford had found many ways to cut costs and offer the least-expensive product.....Its just amazing how the American auto industry along with the bureaucracy of our government killed the truly affordable car in these United States. That is all this website is trying to do..to Keep your car affordable.'

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:

'Think about this, If the average worker grossed $467 a year (maybe more in 1920) and the model T cost $300? Really? You actually had some money left over? NOT TODAY... In today's economy the average worker if he can find a job will gross about $17300 Maybe 20K. The average American car cost about $25000. Of course cheaper American cars are now available that are made outside the US and sold under a American badge. However today if the average worker wants to drive a great American car. That person has to supplement their income with another salary some how or live in the car. With the average repair shop labor cost of $95 an hour or more. The average worker, who by the way is expected to no longer need a car to get to work, because public transportation is so good and car pooling is so much better. Say's our government. The average wage earner/driver cannot afford a problem with their car and pay those high labor costs. Now that's the truth'

The average hourly pay last month was $15.04, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). 1 But, to afford the average rent on an average two-bedroom apartment means you need to earn $14.66 per hour according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition. This leaves you with the grand total of $.38 an hour to pay for the rest of what you need — like clothes, healthcare, and aspirin to ward of your growing headaches. Given that the average number of hours worked is declining, if you're average, you've got a mounting problem. Forget the car....find a bicycle somewhere!

MONEY and INFLATION

To provide an estimate here a guide to the value of $100 US Dollars for the first year in the decade to the equivalent in todays money. If you have $100 Converted from 1920 to 2009 it would be equivalent to $1023 in todays money. No wonder everything cost so much! So that in mind, If your paying $1200 a month for a two bedroom apartment today. That apartment would have cost $12 in 1920. Get it? Reversing that, The Ford model A in todays money is $3000 (remember it was $300 in 1920). Can you buy a new car today for $3000? Todays cars are marvelous machines that are built to be safe to hazards of the outside world. However we pay a premium price for it as you can see.

Well the average car enthusiast doesn't care. That person likes to drive. Also that person will usually..if that person is not wealthy, will do the work on his own car to save money on labor. So he can spend the savings on fuel. That person is me and my family knows it. If that is you too. Then you know what it like to not be able to drive or endure the inconvenience of having a car in need of repair. I cringe of the thought of paying a service tech $15 labor charge to change my wiper blades which cost $5 to buy at the store. This is typical in the auto repair business. What ever it cost to buy the part. You can almost bet the labor charge to repair it is three times more. In some cases more than that. Try having your heater core replaced sometime by a trained qualified tech that has all the right tools if you don't believe me. That's the cost of owning a car now, take it or leave it.

My advice pay cash for your next car get a good warranty that covers all major systems including fluids and antifreeze (you would be surprised how expensive the misc items get) and try to find an honest mechanic. You want the minimal amount of expense when something major happens to your car. AFTER 65K MILES a broken timing belt can get real expensive depending on the make of the car. This is advice I give to my own family. I personally never followed it. I always had monthly payments and bought many cars. I also wasted a lot of money. However believe me if I had to do it over again I would not go that route. Its very tough making a car payment and trying to get that car fixed when something goes wrong. Especially in today's economy.

'THE LOW DOWN ON THIS WEBSITE:'

'Hello part seeker. My name is Gilbert. I am not a professional mechanic by no means. However my family members always come to me for advice about problems with their cars. Sometimes I end up working on their cars. I would search and search for a good price and delivery on a replacement part. So, I put together this part search site. You can see that it is tied to Amazon mostly. Amazon offers the best value because at times you are offered a used or refurbished part along with the new. Depending on your budget this is a great asset. Used or refurbished parts are not always available. There are certain things you do not want to buy used..Like brakes or windshield wipers . However you could utilize a used outside mirror or tail light. So this is why I choose Amazon. It's competitive and I can find these parts'

Now you can go directly to Amazon and do a search for your part. However this website makes it much easier. If you go through this site to buy your part. I get a small commission. However, your cost does not change whether you buy from this website or go directly to Amazon. You are going directly to Amazon anyway. It's just when you choose your part from this website. I get the credit for the sale. So, please help me help you and buy your parts from this website. I want to make this website the car enthusiast place to go for parts and have fun doing it.

There are a million auto part stores available to you. I know this. There might even be one at end of your block. However not all stores have all parts all the time so your going from part store to part store. With the cost of fuel today sometimes its just not worth it. I put a REPAIR TIP tab on my site so you can get repair tips and ask questions and get answers from the PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC. When you click on that tab you will be going to a different site to get your information. "I would be grateful if you come back here for your parts" Thanks.....Gilbert
